A new study done on car buyers shows that Hybrid owners do not usually buy another Hybrid when they are ready to buy another car.
According to the study, out of Hybrid owners that bought a new car in 2011, only 35 percent bought another Hybrid vehicle. Although, gas prices are very high and hybrid vehicles can help to alleviate this, these lower Hybrid retail numbers for second-time buyers even exists in “green” cities such as Seattle.
Hybrid sales reached its peak in 2012, with nearly 2.4 percent of the car market. It was found that just because hybrid owners did not purchase other hybrids, it was found that that owners did buy the same brand of vehicle.
One reason that car owners may switch to conventionally-powered vehicles is because of the advances that have been made in making these vehicles more fuel efficient in recent years.
Other factors such as safety rating and trade-in value are very important car owners are looking for a new vehicle.
